Forgiveness

In the sermon on the mount Jesus said: “If you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” This subject for the Christian is one of the most clear while also being one of the most difficult. Jesus also said that whoever is forgiven much loves much! Because of Jesus, forgiveness is a gift that we get to receive and also give to others!

DOER STEP:

BE DOERS OF THE WORD, AND NOT HEARERS ONLY, DECEIVING YOURSELVES. JAMES 1:22

For a situation/person you need to forgive:

- Write out the ways you’ve been hurt.

- Write out how you have hurt the person. (even if they don’t know)

- Write a letter (on paper) to the person asking for forgiveness or giving forgiveness.

(Alt option - have this conversation in person, better option ;)

- Burn the list as a physical representation of giving up your hurt or unforgiveness to the Lord.
